Letters of Support for Current Legislation:

AB-1287 (Nazarian) requires that the California Department of Aging, in partnership with other specified departments and in consultation with stakeholders, develop a plan and strategy for a phased statewide implementation of the No Wrong Door system on or before July 2, 2020.

AB-1382 (Aguiar-Curry) requires that the state adopt a Master Plan for Aging, emphasizing workforce priorities. The bill requires the Master Plan for Aging to prioritize specified issues related to preparing and supporting the state’s paid paraprofessionals and professionals, as well as unpaid family caregivers.

SB-611 (Caballero) establishes the Master Plan for Aging Housing Task Force to make recommendations for legislation that will help increase the supply of accessible and affordable housing for older adults and reduce barriers to providing health care and social services.

SB-228 (Jackson) calls for the Governor to appoint a Master Plan Director and establish an Aging Task Force comprised of experts representing a range of aging disciplines, representatives of marginalized communities, and members appointed by the Legislature to work with state departments and stakeholders throughout the state to develop a California Master Plan for Aging.
